The Kiwanis Club of Cebu was organized on September 24, 1968 in Mandaue City and was chartered on November 8, 1968 with Kiwanis International ID # K06435. The Kiwanis Club of Makati , the Kiwanis Club of Quezon City , and the Kiwanis Club of Hilltop, Puyallup , Washington State, U.S.A. sponsored us to the organization.
........San Miguel Brewmaster Dominador Santos was our charter president. The other officials elected with him were Sal Fernandez - 1st VP; Cecilio Seno - 2nd VP; Jose Mari Gonzalez - 3rd VP; Fil Arceo - Secretary; Ramon Pons - Treasurer; Ramon Ceniza - PRO and Richard Boyarski, Catalino Doronio and Justo Ortiz as directors. Among the charter members were Hank Aboitiz, Lim Yu, Felix Lim and Joe Uy. The latter is still very active with the club.
.....Our weekly club meetings provide old-fashioned fellowship and a welcome break from the more serious cares of the day. Our club is geared to address the needs of the community through its standing committees, each of which is concerned with a different area of service. On a broader level, Kiwanis Clubs all over the world share the commitment to solving problems of international concern through participation in "major emphasis programs." All of these programs enable us to give of himself -- his experience, knowledge, time and love -- to all who need him.
