Warm greetings from the ASPAC 2008-2009 Executive Board!
In accordance with Article VI, Section 2 of the Bylaws of Kiwanis Asia-Pacific, the Official Call to the 34thASPAC Annual Convention to be held in CEBU is now set.
The ASPAC Executive Board and the Organizing Committee welcomes you to Cebu where the warmth of friendship and great hospitality awaits hundreds of Kiwanians all over Asia Pacific and beyond. Let this be the time and the place to come together and celebrate our achievements, share success stories and most of all, enjoy Kiwanis fellowship.

ASPAC Cebu Organizing Committee.
Registration fee is $200 for every delegate. Those who will register from today up to February 5, 2009 will only pay the registration fee of $180.
Attached is the tentative convention program and the final version will be forwarded to you on a separate email. Also, the following business matters are provided herein and request each District and Kiwanis Nation to take action on it.
1. Nomination is now open for the following ASPAC 2009-2010 positions to be elected in Cebu:
ASPAC Chairman
ASPAC Chairman Elect
ASPAC Vice Chairman
3 Representatives from Kiwanis Nations
Please submit your nominations in writing to the ASPAC Secretary/Treasurer together with the following:
Endorsement from your District Board of Trustees or District House of Delegates or Club
Board of Directors for the Office of Representative from Kiwanis Nations
Candidate must also provide a written consent and/or notice of candidacy
Candidate’s bio data together with passport-sized photograph.
Please note that the sole candidate for the office of the Chairman shall be the Chairman Elect.
2. Proposed Resolutions and Proposed Amendments to Bylaws (if any);
a. Proposed Resolutions (if any).
At the Annual Convention, resolutions may be proposed for approval by the Board of
Trustees of Kiwanis International, by the House of Delegates during the International
Convention, or by the House of Delegates at the Asia-Pacific Convention. Kindly submit
any proposed resolutions in writing to the ASPAC Secretary/Treasurer as soon as
possible, and prior to making a motion on the proposed resolutions at the Convention.
b. Proposed Amendments to the Bylaws of Kiwanis Asia-Pacific (if any).
The Bylaws of Kiwanis Asia-Pacific may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
delegates and delegates-at-large to any Annual Convention. Any club or district or the
Executive Board may submit a proposed amendment to the Secretary/Treasurer, but such
proposed amendment must be received by the Secretary/Treasurer not less than sixty
(60) days prior to the Convention.
..........Any amendments there to shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees of
............Kiwanis International.
3. Report by the District Governors and Representatives of the Kiwanis Nations. Each District
Governor and Kiwanis Nation Representative are given 5-minutes air time to render their
report. It would be better if your report could be done with a power point presentation. We
will send you the format on a separate email. The report should include the following:
a. Membership Growth
b. High impact project
c. District events and activities
d. Kiwanis education and workshop
e. Service Leadership Program
f. Support to Kiwanis International Foundation
4. Hosting of future ASPAC Convention. Interesting District, Kiwanis Nation or Club may
submit their bid for hosting the 2010, 2012, 2013 ASPAC Convention. ASPAC convention
procedure is attached for your perusal. Please note that New Zealand South Pacific District
regretfully announced that they will not be hosting the 2010 ASPAC conference. A separate
email was forwarded by District Secretary Rex Keys earlier. 2011 ASPAC Convention will
be hosted by the Malaysia District.
5. Cultural presentation at the convention. As traditionally done each year at the ASPAC
convention, each District and Kiwanis Nation are requested to present a song and/or dance
number as part of the program. So please be prepared with your most entertaining song
and/or dance program and share it with all the delegates.
6. Best service project and best photo exhibit awards. The ASPAC Convention is an ideal
occasion for Kiwanis in Asia-Pacific to share their best service projects and photo exhibit.
Each District and Kiwanis Nation is invited to select ONE Service Project undertaken in their
District or Club from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 for their entry. A separate
email with the criteria will be forwarded at a later date.
Please extend the invitation to all Kiwanians, families and guests to an exciting, colourful and unforgetable Convention in Cebu.
