Vocational Education Scholarship Program

Out-of-school youth. A term describing thousands if not millions of young Filipino men and women who are of school age but not in school, or who are jobless and beyond the usual school age but without an education that could land them gainful employment or enable them to start a small business.

Together, the Kiwanis Clubs of Wien-Europa 1 (Austria) and Cebu and the Spiritan Catholic Center Foundation started a scholarship program on January 2012 to help at least some of these young people. 14 young men constitute the first batch of scholars. Four have just completed the plumbing course and 10 are enrolled in automotive.....

FEEDING PROJECTS

Let’s hit two birds with one stone, Kwn. William Medici told his fellow Kiwanians. Let’s feed the malnourished children of Cebu while at the same time are helping the poor farmers. .....And it was almost as easy said than done! Starting November 29, 2005, during the term of President Eliodoro “Eli” Ostia, 2,089 Grade 1 pupils in 10 public schools in the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Danao, and municipalities of Carmen and Compostela were given a pouch of fresh dairy milk during the daily morning recess. The milk was proudly produced by Cebu’s very own dairy farmers.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Pres. Medici hand in an check to Mrs. Vargas to cover the school expenses of the first batch of students the kiwanians are taking care of.

KIWANIS ONE DAY

Part of the over 600 children who were treated to a puppet and music show and then to fresh chocolate milk and waffle hot dogs during the club’s observance of the 2008 Kiwanis One Day project.
